I was wondering how the Merla Tour went. It was a very cold day, I think you must have risked encountering some snow.
For our English friends the Merla is the female blackbird which is said to hide from the cold during January. Depending on the locality one of the last days of January is said to be the coldest day of the year and bonfires are lit to signal the end of winter and the approach of warmer weather. If the "days of the merla" are cold it is thought a sign of a pleasant spring, on the other hand if they are warm you can expect a late spring.
In some traditions the Merla hid in a chimney and that is why it became black (the female is actually brown)
