Tell us more about the trophy. I knew the story about Albert, but i have never seen that trophy with the SE5 on it

My daughter has just graduated from No1 Flight training school RAF Shawbury and while there the trainee Helicopter Pilots from all the three services were awarded their wings, The Albert Ball VC Trophy is also awarded to the Pilot who achieved the best overall performance during their training. Albert Ball was asigned to 60 squadron during the later stages of WW1 which is now the Helicopter training squadron based at RAF Shawbury

Searching for the Albert Ball Memorial on our way from France to Ypres, Belgium. It took some time, walking and crossing a farmers field, but we managed. We thought we just could not pass by without paying tribute!🙏🏻☘️☘️

Truly amazing, I had no idea he was so decorated, at only 20 years old too, many thanks for searching, obviously pretty hard to find.

As well as the memorial stone it is poignant to visit his grave at the nearby German Cemetery.

He is still highly regarded in Annoeullin and the collage is named after him.

Albert was an early Morgan customer having a three wheeler and several times since 2016 the Three Wheeler group have joined the annual commemoration in the town. The next trip will be on the 7th May 2027 for the 110th anniversary.

Is the memorial is near Ypres.?

I saw the last post in Ypres one time, it is very emotional. Also the different cemetery all around.

It's in Annoeullin, Nort of France, approx 45 min drive from Ypres. We can send you the coordinates and the best route to come there by car. After that it's a 15 min walk!
