my 2005 roadster suffered the same thing. After a year I bought a fridge door switch and mounted it on wood in front of the pedal.I ran one (dual core) wire from the pressure switch to my fridge thingy. Shortly after the factory developed a kit which is available to convert I believe. I used a fridge switch as they're designed to last forever on high voltage. I now have instant break lights; in fact I can make them light without braking if I choose.
