I have owned 2 Bristols in the past, a 603 (previously owned by Liam and Patsy) and a Blenheim series one. The Blenheim was a massive money sink, power, reliability, build quality all poor. Bristol had lost their mojo by then, I had been persuaded to sell the 603 (used as an occassional classic) for the Blenheim which I was to use as my everyday car. A disaster. Throughout all of this I retained my 2001 plus 8 which remains a joy ( after several mods). I would recommend a classic Bristol, but not one as an everyday car. The concept (British, hand made, understated etc etc) cannot be faulted and was the lure in the first place. The Blenheim cost me £1000 per mile travelled in service, repairs and upgrades, after 20,000 miles I had to sell. Now I continue to lust after this one but have managed to resist repeating my previous folly.
Moral of the story....it does not do to acheive your dream car as it may well disappoint.
