I'd be very upset if the spec I'd agreed with the factory/dealer had not been delivered as ordered. That said, and to answer your question about the manual box, I have had a manual Aero 8 and a manual Plus 8. I feel the manual gearbox suits the new Plus 8 very well and much better than the Aero 8. I love the handling and the driver connection with the car that a manual gearbox gives you. All down to personal preference but you might be delightfully surprised.
