If you take a standard 3 wheeler and pay for bespoke paint, change the trim and add a few other custom items it wouldn’t take long to reach £3,000 in options so I’m not convinced the premium is that significant. With regards to branding, purchasing one with Gulf stickers is providing free advertising, no arguments there, although one could stretch that concept to say leaving the Morgan badge on would be free advertising for MMC
Do we take all badging off our cars? I certainly remove all dealer stickers and number plate frames - after paying a fortune in dealer delivery why would I want to advertise for them? How often do you see people walking around in clothing with brand names and logos on the front, back and sides? You see this all the time, all free advertising. Psychologists and Demographers will tell you it’s all about being a part of a tribe.
I have always liked the Gulf colours however I'm not sure buying a Gulf 3 Wheeler, or any other special edition, means you have no imagination. How many Morgan owners choose a traditional or standard colour for their pride and joy – if you don't go bespoke does that mean you have no imagination? I say buy what you like and what makes you feel good
