If the car is parked under trees all the time....possible problem might be the drain/gutter feature at the base of the front windscreen.
On some cars the water has to drain through a tube or narrow gutter feature. If that gets clogged with leaves or such like the area can flood and that water can sometimes find it's way into the front footwell area.
Happened to me once with a Citroen.
