I must admit that I mainly run reflective plates in the UK for both legality and visibility; however when venturing across the Channel, I often use the black and silver, as I think they look great.
They also go rather well with rather splendid black and silver GB plate (which mounts to the bumper) which I found at a jumble sale.

I've only ever had one issue in the UK and that was at one of the Morgan Centenary events; when a beligerent owner took exception to the plate; telling me it had no right to be on the car and "diminished the integrity of the MSCC"
I restrained myself from telling him what to do, but the lovely Lady Budster's look of distain left him in no doubt.
Her theory is that people like him have very small . . . wink

What a busybody twat.

I worry more about the fact that the back number is practically concealed below the bumper rather than the fact it is not strictly legal. If I am ever stopped I'll just say "sorry officer I didn't realise. The car came like this when I bought it and I have the standard plates here. I'll swap them when I get home. Ok?"
