Thanks, Brian. Here's a short story about that wheel... I made it for a gent who was having the original Doane Spencer 2 hot rod restored by So-Cal Speedshop. After much discussion and sharing of wood samples, the customer decided on what you see, figured bubinga (African rosewood) with ebony lined joints. AFter delivering it to So-Cal, the fellow there decided it too too much attention away from the interior, so he had the rim painted flat black and the spokes flat gray. I nearly cried.
