I no longer keep the side screens on my Mog for the same reason.

I was getting a bit of bubbling around the front side screen mounting on both doors, I suspect that damp side screens were providing the electrolyte to produce the electrolysis reaction. Now rubbed down, etch primed, resprayed and reassembled with copious Duralac with no recurrence.
