Cancer extended into the bowel wall but did not penetrate. There was adhesion to the abdominal wall internally but this was inflammation and not cancer. This tissue was however removed (the complication that extended my op) as a precaution anyway but cancer had not spread into it.
Dukes stage B - T stage T3 (these confuse me a tad)
No chemotherapy or further treatment required at present! 6 monthly check ups, annual CT scans and Bi-annual Colonsocopy for next 5 years at least to check for re-occurrence.
BUT this doesn't mean I will
not have any re-occurrence just that it is much less likely!
What
does it mean? Well my nephew who is a very smart Doctor working in research texted me "Congratulations! you LUCKY LUCKY man"
I'm not 'out of the firing line' by any stretch of the imagination; but I
have 'hopped over the wall'. Hopefully I can keep running before one of the squad pops his head over the wall and starts shooting
Thanks to God, the incredible medical team who looked after me and my wonderful family and friends (both real and virtual
) you really did make a HUGE difference
and

and

to you all
NGUNS!!
