Karl. I think you will find most of us with recent models use a small charger called a battery conditioner and that is plugged into the cigarette lighter that is situated under the dash. An adaptor is used. In the recent Morgans this remains connected to the battery even when the key is removed. It is easy to run the lead out over the top of the sidescreen and then lock the door if you feel it is necessary.

There are plenty on the market and everyone has there own recomendation. The cost very little.
