Martyn - I have nothing against restorations per se, I have even performed a few full restos myself. Certainly improvements or necessary mods need to be considered and implemented from time to time in order to maintain a vehicle's roadworthiness, especially through decades of usage . My comment was intended to convey my negative sentiments directed towards the increasingly pervasive attitude in the car hobby suggesting an almost compulsive desire for erasing the past and throwing out and replacing/refurbishing anything that is aged despite it's retaining full function and serviceability. Sadly throwing history out the door and banishing it from appreciation by future generation/owners. To each his own however, Your car and Your money, "do as you please applies."
