Hi Read T, I have just sorted the fuel gauge on my 57 +4 and believe (but could be wrong) that ours are similar in that the sender works the other way around to the later cars. I replaced the sender in my tank with one from an early Morris Minor, circa 57. The later senders for the Morris 1000 also work the wrong way for the early gauge, the correct gauge from a Morris for example is for ones with the gold speedo. These sometimes come up on uk Ebay - guess availability of morris parts would be a bit thin on the ground where you are but could give you a start point. Let me know if you want a photo, rgds, Bill
