Thanks for the reply guys, I am sorry I did measure the resistance and voltage but yeah if I was thinking I would have measured resistance. I put a call into Morgan Motors of New England and spoke with a gentleman there in the service department. The sender should have between 5-90 ohms resistance depending on the float position. Mine wasn't changing. I ordered a replacement 'electric' sender which he said works better.
Hopefully it's not made by lucas, otherwise I'm sure some electric sparks are sure to head into the tank haha.
