Thanks all for your replies - you've set my mind at rest.

I also prefer the Chunnel - problem is it's a 3.5 hour drive to it and then another 1 hour drive the other side compared to a 1 hour drive to Hull and no drive the other side to get to the same place!! No brainer really particularly when limited for time as it makes the difference between two nights stop on route or one.
