Now pretty sure the "klacking" noise comes from the wishbones. I gather it is caused by the wishbone snapping back into position.
I have also discovered that the rubber bushes holding the regulator/rectifier are disintegrating. One of the three is completely worn through. This is at 2450 km.
Still enjoying the car, though. Someone trying to drive and take pictures at the same time almost lost it beside me today.
