Morgan front suspension is unique, with nothing in common with any other manufacturer (although Lancia did employ a similar system back in the 30s, I think) Gerry.
Lancia used the system from 1922 to 1957 and they were known for their good handling. If I understand correctly it is a true sliding pillar system, in which the kingpin moves up and down and the stub axle is fixed to the king pin. I have never seen one though so I can't be sure. The Morgan system is actually is a sliding stub axle system in which the king pin is fixed.
