Kin,I would give it a go. I had similar problems with BT to Simon. I did a bit better though with just under £1000. After days of getting no where I finally found one of the directors email addresses. Which seemed to get almost instant results.
I had a similar thing with BT - one email to Ben Verwayyan, the Chairman, and I had his PA on the phone, offering many apologies and £200 compensation. I told her that wasn't enough and that I wanted £750 for the business line, and £250 for the personal line. I had a cheque arrive two days later !
Tried the same with the water company after we'd been cut off for the umpteenth time in 3 weeks, and got nowhere ! Oh well, you can't win 'em all.
