Was in Southport for 0840 this morning. Life's didn't open until about 9 and then I had quite a long wait because I'd decided I wanted them to fit the SS door stays at the last minute (an attempt to curry favour with SWMBO) .... This apparently is quite a job on my model year because there are no captive nuts and the trim has to be peeled back.
Spent the time walking around and by the time it was ready I was very familiar with many of Southport's attractions (which include a BMW bike dealer!)
The vehicle handover was extensive and I was even shown how to change the light bulbs, in all it took a good 45 minutes or more.
Anyway fortunately the weather stayed fine and managed to get it back dry. Enjoyed the drive and am learning to avoid what would normally be innocent looking road defects ;-) was accompanied by the usual rattles, which I expected, and an intermittent whistling which I cannot fathom where it's coming from.
Two sons came round for a gander and was just about to take no 1 out when it started raining, so it went straight back in the garage! Cleared up for bit later and managed to take the two lads for a spin, some spots of rain coming over the top of be screen at one point .. We burst out laughing when the 3 little toy wipers danced across the screen (to not much effect). Got it back under cover before the heavens opened fully.
Topped up with petrol, which seemed a bit of a faff, the pump kept stopping as the fuel seemed to back up the filler, is this normal?
No time to take pics yet but no 1 son took some video which I hope he will post up somewhere.
Bit too soon for us to get organised for MOG13 (I think, anyway) but here's hoping for a dry weekend for us all.
