Someone posted that it is important that the blades are vertical to the glass to function correctly. Obviously they flip from side to side depending on the direction of the stroke. It is not simple because the angle changes during the stroke. I set the blades at the mid point by turning off the ignition at the right moment, I then removed the blades and using some leather and a pair of pliers I twisted the end of the arm. After repeated attempts I got the wipers working much better but I still need to make a slight adjustment to one of them.
