Hi Deni - you may have seen my postings on my +8 Salisbury axle.
They are repairable if you source the right components and speak to the right people - I have benefitted from some good advice through Talk Morgan.
You need courage and a fair amount of resilience to work on these items but when you have no alternative you find may it is not as bad as your feared. Billy Bellinger of Driveline Motorsports Ltd, in Barnet is a voice of sanity in a world of fear and chaos. Regarding your axle I would listen to the advice of your Talk Morgan colleagues and go for a drive!
If you did ever have a Salisbury LSD and it was apparently beyond repair, Billy Bellinger can supply and fit a replacement LSD. Check out his web site although only for interest as I do not think you have a problem at all. If you do have a Salisbury LSD, are you running it with the correct lubricant with friction additives?
Best wishes
Flying Doc (grounded at present).
