Washed my Matt Army Green for the first time this week. Just used warm water in a new bucket and a new sponge, but was surprised to see a definite green tinge to the sponge develop during the wash. Rinsed the bodywork with fresh water, in another new bucket, and another new sponge then chammy leathered (new chammy leather) to give a great finish.

I used a different sponge for washing non bodywork parts and my old chammy leather to dry off. Finished off with Windowlene to wipe bugs off the screens and other shiny bits, which also came up great.

What do other folk recommend to polish up the engine and filler cap?

The leather trim came up fine after a wipe down with the old chammy leather, but should I really be using something else?
