So nice to know one is not alone. I have a recently-acquired 1986 Morgan Plus 4. Obviously the catch knobs have to be pressed downwardly, but that causes palm trauma and often is ineffective, especially if others are watching and smirking. What I do is to press downwardly on the knob, using the base of the forefinger of one hand, and simultaneously press downwards with my thumb applied to the knob shaft. When you feel the catch release, you pull the bonnet toward you.
