It is not the cat or the light would have stayed on. Without reading the error stored in the ECU there is no way of knowing what the problem is.

For very little money you can get a Bluetooth OBD2 adaptor and an app called Torque if you have an android phone. If you have another type of phone there are probably other solutions. Apple does not like many Bluetooth systems but I think you can get wifi adaptors too.
