Just going off what was done to mine in the mid 90s the oil pressure dropped to very low ( unable to remember what ) part of the pump had broken ( looked from memory like a sprocket with broken teeth ) . May be why the engine and sump came out .
thanks for the reply. the leak is from the oil pump that bolts onto the front of the engine and a failed seal on that, i'm pretty sure its not the sump. certainly when i've had the engine running the oil is coming from that pump.
