Methinks you have the wrong Windsor Richard. Charles would have been there in 1970 or 71 - the AML didn't come out until '76.

Andrew on the other hand went there in 1979. I did a summer camp that year at the BRNC with the Naval CCF from school and they were busy painting the hell out of everything in preparation for his arrival.

I'm sure you must be right Giles we didn't move down here until early 1979 - the only memorable Royal I saw in town was Diana and she was a stunner in the flesh.
Princess Michael of Kent was a fair looker too as I remember, before she got all serious and bossy. wink

Ah yes, Diana. I met her once in rather unfortunate circumstances. I'd popped into a rather classy equestrian outfitters in Knightbridge to buy some jodhpurs and had just walked out of the shop when I was almost knocked over by a blonde driving an Audi Convertible who swung onto the pavement. Of course, gentleman that I was in those days, I turned and swore at her! She sweetly smiled at me, the chap next to her scowled at me....probably her police bodyguard and it wasn't until I stormed off across the road that I realised who she was! I still would have sworn but probably in more moderate terms!

Former Morgan owner. Gone but hopefully not forgotten!
