It's a shame to spend 850k GBP and to break down during the first stage.
If I would try sometimes to make that dream come true, I could spend maybe a tenth of this budget. I have looked at Jaguar XK 120 (coupe is cheaper than the roadster), AC Aceca (AC engined) or Austin-Healey 100. I think with those cars I could spend "only" a tenth of his budget for such an event
