On return from my break in the southwest of WA the new brake pipes from BHM had arrived complete with crush copper washers.

I fitted the passenger side and installed the "Green Stuff" pads (without the 3M backing, but with copper slip due to clearances) and started on the drivers side. All was going well until I tightened up the brake pipe to the caliper when it sheared at the "shoulder" of the pipe just as the washer started to crush. frown

Thankfully the thread inside the caliper just twisted out with an "easy out" between my fingers.

BHM service excellent as normal and a new pipe is on its way! Seeming a manufacturing issue??

Just now need the new pipe, to bleed the brakes, a bit of luck and the overhaul is complete!

What is noticeable is that the passenger wheel which always slightly binded is now much better and rotates freely with only light "drag" from the brake pads at one point. Must have got the brake discs on OK!
