It could be, or it might be the 'memory' function for the window closure system which operates independently on the driver's and passenger's side. My '09 Max seems to 'forget' the setting on one side or the other if I have not used it for a while - even if left on trickle charge.
Dean Royal has posted on here before about the re-set sequence. I found a guide from a BMW web forum which had the same info, but I have this at my other house. From memory it goes something like this.
Use window switch to put window fully open and HOLD DOWN switch for 5 secs+ (to unset)
With door shut, close window which will auto-stop against seal and without releasing HOLD DOWN switch for further 5+ secs (to re-set)
Hopefully this will work (or call a friendly BMW dealer - it is their system MMC use)

Tried this procedure out several times by following your directives to the letter; but it didn't work.
The window still didn't lower when I tried to open the passenger side door... What am I missing?
