Almost anything would be better....
There is a quire reasonable BMW M Sport wheel that has a small centre boss that includes an air bag. I have on on my car.
This is a link to a photo: it is available with and without "Flappy Paddles". It is also available heated....
BMW Steering It would, I guess, also work wth all the BMW Can Bus electronics.
