Glad to hear the system worked and you are both OK.

I test mine regularly - usually with the toaster.
Still haven't figured out why the alarm in the kitchen/diner area is a smoke alarm, rather than heat... And I have singularly failed to remove it from it's mounting to try to find heat alarm.
All three are mains powered with battery backup. All fitted when the house was rewired a couple of years ago.

Reminds me, I have a battery CO alarm to fit...
