Thanks for all the pearls of wisdom. Very helpful. I rang Life's this morning and they suggested I contact a local windscreen supplier who could probably make a screen to size. This I did and they can. Laminated but not tinted sadly. I'm not sure why a tinted screen would not help as most cars come with them as standard today. I'm not going to play the insurance card as it's dishonest in my eyes to say something that is not true. Will let you know how I get on once I fit the new screen to the car. Thanks again everyone.
