Hi Biffo - welcome to TM. Lovely car you have too. Ledbury is a special place for me. Stayed several times in the 70s and 80s at The Old Talbot with my mum and dad. Loved it there. The landlord at the time was I think Ernie Harrison, a Yorkshire man. He always had a good story to tell. Also, I remember a local used to bring his old shire horse along every Sunday. The local had a few pints and Ernie used to take out a bucket of ale for the horse. after a few hours the pair of them would be seen wandering home from one side of the street to the other. Happy times...
Lovely story Roger. The Talbot was 5 minutes walk from my Mum & Dad's home. I never knew Ernie's surname, but he and June, his wife were fantastic hosts.
I once heard Ernie descibing to an American tourist couple, the skirmish that supposedly happened during the Civil Wars; resulting in a musket ball hole in the Dining Room panelling!
My Dad and I usually had our first pint in the Royal Oak, then back home via the Feathers and finally the Talbot.

Biffo: Apologies for going off-topic.
