It's my guess that the car will be bought by a Morgan owner.
The CatD issue is playing a part but not to the extent it would for a bog standard run of the mill car, due to the Peter Mulberry factor in the re-build.
Remember the Plus4 from Wheeler Dealers?
Granted that was not a CatD but would it have become one due to the rotten chassis?
The buying price @£14k reflected that and resale at £20k+ matched too
CatD stigma will stick but to a lesser extent than normal- probably!
My only reservations would be about long term spares etc for the mods done, mainly suspension.
Having said that, when I was looking to move up from my4/4 I looked at Roadsters / +8 and if I was still there I would be severely tempted!
Modifying cars seldom, if ever, increases value but can hold value....
How many of us have "mods" - Suplex/dampers/brakes/ lights/ pan hard/ centralising kit for rear.....the list goes on! (DaveW has done some great stuff)
An insurance quote would be interesting with the mods! But then, a Morgan specialist insurer would be " in the know " unlike the mainstream people who may not know what a Morgan was and the background to Peter Mulberry.
