Agree 100% with Lightsphere Colin. I slip a 4ft long tube over the socket bar then get a friend to push on it, then whack the socket bar 20-30 cms from the hub with a lump hammer, Never fails! Usually 3 whacks and the shock loosens it. Don't forget to put a very light smear of copper grease on the splines on reassembly!
