Also was surprised that my compensator did not have a zerk for grease. My build date is 9/13 and chassis # is 986 I think.
Mine's about the same vintage - chassis # 948 and no grease nipple on the compensator.
My dealer was going to carry out the retrofit mod but apparently they have to refer back to the factory with some parts serial numbers to check whether it can be done or not. So it appears that some are sealed for life and others can be retrofitted with the nipple.
At the moment the compensator is fine so I'm leaving it alone anyway
