Looked at in that perspective the Mog makes sense. Even a new 3.7 that needs to be "fettled" to make it perfect makes a lot of sense as a 5 year investment.
I suppose that is why we buy Mogs and keep them!
Peter, some interesting stuff your thread has provoked, I don't think you need to fettle any Morgan unless you choose to do so, or it has a problem. Some owners just buy them and use them warts and all. In fact my new car I think I could just use it as it is. This is not to say I would. I think some of this is an attitude of mind. I know a couple of owners not far from here, one has had his four seater for years, he just gets in it and drives it, it looks used and a little unloved, he loves it and enjoys driving it, but he just accepts it as it is. I know another well known owner who has a similar attitude, and just uses the car, and if something does not work, either fixes it or leaves it as it is if not important. Just depends on your outlook to what a car is and what you expect, possibly.
