Part of the attraction is the ability to fiddle with things. If it were perfect, we might not be interested. Not that this is an excuse for poor assembly but just a thought. I don't touch my modern tin tops but think nothing of yanking some bit or the other off the Morgan. Would it appeal as much as a 'do not touch' car?? I think not.
