What size wheels are you running one? The aeros do bump a bit on poor surfaces and wheel size can help here.

Asbojohn--that wouldn't happen to be your car on the wikipedia page would it? I just noticed mine there are two pictures of mine to represent the SII, minor celebrity!!!
I'm running standard S2 wheel/tire combo with the original P-zeros in the rear and NOS P-zeros in the front.
The previous owner did 10k miles in 9 years, it's had a pampered life and likely sat for long periods of time on several occasions. What are you driving at? Our roads are so atrocious it's possible the Koni's are shot.
