Hi Geir, my original kingpins and bronze bushes were finished at 14000 miles (when I bought the car). I could see that the one-shot-oiler had been used.
I have change them for hard chrome king pins and Vesconite Hi-Lube bushes including seals at the bottom end (you'll have to push the bushing in about 2,5 mm to accommodate for the seal). I think the seals are the best to protect both bushings and kingpins from dirt and grit getting in between the moving parts. Otherwise many recommend some form of gaiter around the 'open end' which I think is good too.
