I think they are doing a really good job with the styling of their range now. I like the Mazda 6 when i see it on the road. The 7 MPV thing we rented at SFO last year was a very nice car to drive.
It is a little more aggressive than the traditional MX5 but given the lack of competition I think it should do well. You see a lot of older ones around so people clearly like to hang on to them.
Comparing it to VW EOS and other so called cheap 2 door open tops it is a good ownership proposition. I like the EOS but its is expensive, will probably cost more to run and not as much fun to drive.
That area of the market seems under populated.
