Couldn't agree more. My cousin bought a 2 litre one of the early 3rd generation when they first came out in about 2006 & it's been brilliant. It lives on the street in Islington. He's never had any problems with it & it's suffered no water ingress at all. He's very quick in it (well, he did do the police advanced driver course when he was in the met...) and in my experience it's a hoot to drive.

I'd bet that almost all of those who dismiss the MX5 as a "hairdresser's car" have never driven one, or even been for a ride. In my book it's a proper sports car and encapsulates a lot of what the whole sports car thing is about.
