After the problems with the cam belt on my wife's M3W I checked mine today. It looked like the picture below. There where a kind of filmcoat chips laying in the bottom of the housing. Looked like they had the form of the belt. Difficult to describe it. The pieces where a bit melted together in the lower part of the engine. For me it's 100% sure this is not like it need to be. Probably the belt is getting too hot and there is a coating on the belt which separates from the belt. The belt looked still OK for me. Thinking about venting the housing (like MMC do on the new M3W's with a spacer between the cover and the housing) and also spray it with PFTE. Any other suggestions ?
