On the subject of delivery dates, I'm not so sure it is necessary to order and wait 6 - 9 months. Surely just a ring around the dealers will find one or two with almost immediate build slots?
It's not easy to do this in the U.S. since dealers are spread so far apart. The dealer nearest me (170 miles away) didn't have any unsold build slots, but a dealer over 1000 miles away did. I decided to go with my "local" dealer and patiently wait for a build slot to open up.
