You(ve hit the nail on the head there Howard - the arithmetic is undeniable. It is one of the truths that the likes of UKIP always choose to ignore. The UK birthrate is below 2 kids per couple, so to maintain the contributions necessary to support an ageing population who start work later, immigration is indispensable. Likewise, for example, the NHS couldn't function without doctors and nurses from overseas.
