Just out of interest what colour is your car? I know this has no bearing on your starting problem but I sold my 93 Plus 8 at about the time you bought yours!

Re your starting problem I used to have a TVR Griffith and every now and then it would just stop running, even on the motorway at 70mph! It took a bit of sorting but the cause was traced to the ballast resistor next to the coil. The heat had caused it to malfunction and its a commen problem I think. Not very expensive to replace and probably a sensible precaution if yours is the original part.
