Salvage yards are renowned for quick or cheap repair profit, in my experience i have never seen a decent repair come out of such a Yard, lets face it Salvage Yards are a new generation SCRAP YARD.
However, obtain a full qualified Engineers report on the car including a Chassis Alignment check, pay £25K for it and i think you will be come the owner of an appreciating classic at a very reasonable investment.
