Well I just went OCD and took the carbs off for a throttle shaft replacement and to polish them up with again new seals/gaskets.

I do love how easy SUs are to work on, even though centering the jets can be a pain in the backside. The nut you turn to center the jet is the same one used to put pressure on the bottom cork gasket, so if you loosen it to help center the jet it might leak. Also I find that if I turn the mixture adjusting nut at the bottom sometimes it tries to rotate the jet as well.
