The stainless steel wire wheels are heavier than the stock alloys.

If you abide by the principal that it is ideal to reduce the unsprung weight, to a minimum, at each corner of the car, the lighter the wheel the better.

Reducing the weight of the wheels will assist the suspension and therefore the composure of the car on road, or track.

You also have the overall issue of weight vs power... as Colin Chapman said, "add lightness to go quicker".

That said, I'd always buy what you like based on aesthetics when it comes to something you are owning for pleasure. smile
